MORE THAN WORDS: COLORS UNVEIL TRUE COLORS - Part 3 (CARTOONS' CHARACTERS - edition)

Not so long ago, I talked about style and personality traits. I told you TV needs to visually explain what are you looking at so they usually stereotypies characters through their looks.	Non molto tempo addietro vi ho parlato di stile e tratti di personalità.  Vi ho detto che per spiegare visivamente quello che state guardando la TV solitamente stereotipizza i personaggi grazie al loro aspetto.
First impression is everything when you have less than an heartbeat to catch someone’s attention.	La prima impressione è tutto quando si ha meno di un battito di ciglia per cogliere l'attenzione di qualcuno.
Cartoons (too) are wonderful graphic examples of how to show personality traits through the way they appear.	I cartoni (anche loro) sono meravigliosi esempi grafici di come mostrare i tratti di personalità attraverso il modo in cui questi sono raffigurati.
Funny things about cartoon, they don't change their clothig all the way to the last episode.	La cosa divertente dei cartoni è che dal primo all'ultimo episodio i personaggi non cambiano l'abbigliamento.
So cartoonist have the advantage to choose a color and stick to it. As you will see in a moment, the color will tell you a lot about the character wearing it.	I cartoonisti hanno quindi il vantaggio di scegliere un colore ed attenersi a quello. Come vedrete tra un momento, il colore vi dice già molto del personaggio che lo indossa.
Of course I could also tell you about many other thing - like the shape of their eyes – that are also giveaways of the personality of the character but this time I’ll simply concentrate on colors.	Naturalmente vi potrei parlare di molte altre variabili - come la forma degli occhi . che rivelano i tratti di personalità ma per questa volta mi limiterò a parlare dei colori.
Sometimes colors depends on the “element” they represent but mostly there is a strong connection within the element and the personality	Talvolta il colore dipende dall'elemento che questi rappresentano ma più che altro si tratta di una connessione tra l'elemento e la personalità.

They take their powers from 5 elements (fire, water, air, earth, light). 5 guerrieri in armatura combattono contro gli emissari del male per proteggere il pianeta. I loro poteri derivano dai 5 elementi (fuoco, acqua, aria, terra, luce). MAGIC MELODY Five little girl use their musical-magic abilities do do good. Cinque bambine usano le loro abilità magico-musicali per far del bene. GATCHAMAN Five heroes defend the planet and nature. They are ranked by a progressive number that define the command chain.  Cinque eroi difendono il pianeta e la Natura. Hanno un ordine indicato da un numero progressivo che ne identifica la posizione nella catena del comando.
You may have never noticed it but cartoonist (especially those from the 80s) follow a few simple rules when it comes to color.	Potreste avere notato che i cartoonisti (specialmente quelli degli anni 80) seguono poche regole basilari riguardo ai colori.
I’m going to take a few examples from cartoon showing 3 to 5 main characters and show you how, by the colors they are wearing, you could guess “personality” of the characters.	Prenderò alcuni esempi da dei cartoni che presentano da 3 a 5 personaggi e vi mostrerò come, a seconda del colore che indossano, potreste indovinare la "personalità del personaggio."
Mostly, when there are many major characters, the true protagonists wears red, the wise one blue or black, yellow and orange are for good hearted, green may be used for both naïve or intelligent ones, purple means sophisticate or evil, pink is for princesses, white for straightforward characters or candor and black is for villains or complex figure.	Di solito, quando c'è più di un personaggio principale, il protagonista veste di rosso, il saggio di blu o di nero, il verde viene usato sia per i personaggi ingenui sia per quelli intelligenti, il viola indica sofisticato o malvagio, il rosa è per le principesse, il bianco per personaggi retti o candidi ed il nero è per i cattivi o i personaggi complessi.
Bottom line: colors have a meaning and in the cartoon world it is true for both the way the characters act and the way they feel.	Morale della favola: i colori hanno un significato e nel  mondo dei cartoni questo vale sia per il modo in cui agiscono sia per quello che i personaggi provano.

La principessa Aurora ed i suoi tre valorosi cavalieri combatteranno per difendere molti mondi.  Cat's eye Three sisters steal their father's painting to recover the hints he left them in order to finally find him.  Tre sorelle rubano le opere d'arte del padre per raccogliere gli indizi che lui ha lasciato e che gli permetteranno di ritrovarlo. Voltron Barely escaped from the aliens who invaded and destroyed Earth, five space pilot will end up on an unknown planet where an hidden robot formed by 5 separate lion-alike robots wait to be piloted.  Scappati a malapena dagli alieni che hanno invaso e distrutto la terra, cinque piloti spaziali finiranno su su un pianeta sconosciuto dove un robot formato da cinque robot dalla forma di leone attende di essere pilotato. Scooby Doo Four friends and a dog deal with mysteries no one else is able to solve. Quattro amici ed un cane alle prese con dei misteri che nessun altro è in grado di risolvere. Vultus V Slavers and cruel aliens try to conquer planet Earth but a run away scientist and his sons will fight them thanks to a robot he created. Degli alieni perfidi e schiavisti tentano di conquistare il pianeta Terra ma uno scienziato scappato via ed i suoi figli combatteranno grazie ad un robot di sua invenzione.

The - Fall 2016 New York Fashion Week - love/hate street fashion compilation

The NYFW never cease to astonish us. Even though the catwalk showed us some very precise hints, the way people interpreted them often turned out to be very different (and the photographers - like the one who shoot many of the photos I choose for this post - never miss to catch them). From classy and stylish to fancy or even homely we are going to look thorough some fashionable newyorkers in order to understand how they interpreted this fall’s trends.	Il NYFW non finisce mai di stupirci. Anche se la passerella ci mostra alcuni suggerimenti precisi, il modo in cui le persone li interpretano spesso si rivela molto diversa (ed i fotografi - come quello che ha scattato la maggior parte delle foto che ho utilizzato in questo post - non mancano mai di catturarlo). Da classico ed elegante a quello eccentrico o inappropriato,  stiamo per passare in rassegna alcune newyorkesi alla moda al fine di capire come hanno interpretato le tendenze di questo autunno.
The fall 2016 NYFW’s five main trends are:	Le cinque tendenze principali della NYFW per l'autunno 2016 sono:
·         Statement furs	·         Pellicce d’effetto
Yes girls, furs are back. Huge, massive and in every color you can think of  and furs are here to stay (for a few more winters I guess). Collars, overcoats, hats or fancy details be free to wear the fur just be sure it is ecologic: please don’t buy a sweet furred friend skin, it didn’t deserve to die in order to make you look fancy.	Si ragazze, le pellicce sono tornate. Enormi, voluminosissime e di tutti i colori che vi possono venire in mente e sono tornate per restare (e per qualche altra stagione mi pare di intendere). Colletti, cappotti, cappelli o dettagli bizzarri, sentitevi liberi di indossare le pellicce ma assicuratevi che siano ecologiche: per favore, non comprate la pelle di un dolce amichetto peloso, non merita di morire perché vi sentiate più alla moda.
·         Fall floral	A tutto fiori.
Floral, floral, floral. Floral pattern everywhere: dresses, bags and accessories. Make your choice and make it floral. I prefer a black background with pink, orange and light blue flowers, like in Valentino’s last collection but you can opt for a lighter   background depending on your mood or taste!	Floreale, floreale, floreale. Motivo floreale ovunque: abiti, borse ed accessori. Fai la tua scelta e falla floreale. Io preferisco uno sfondo nero con fiori rosa, arancione ed celeste floreale, come nell'ultima collezione di Valentino ma tu puoi optare per uno sfondo più chiaro a seconda del tuo umore o gusto.
·                    Pantsuit	Tailleur pantalone
It’s mostly Hillary Clinton fault but this year you will wear a pair of pants to match your suit jacket. Pencil or flare, dark or light, it doesn’t matter no skirt this year, only pants.	E' più che altro colpa di Hillary Clinton ma quest'anno abbinerete un paio di pantaloni alla vostra giacca da completo. Dritti o svasati, scuri o chiari, non importa, niente gonna quest'anno, solo pantaloni.
·         Shealing bomber	Bomber con pellicciotto
Missing Top Gun? Some stylist did. We can choose among many different coats this coming winter but if you are fashion, sporty and sensitive to the cold this is your best bet. Mainly in black, brown, camel or another neutral color (I love the Pantone® sharkskin nuance) this is a very comfortable clothing to wear.	Vi manca Top Gun? Ad alcuni stilisti si. Possiamo scegliere tra tanti differenti cappotti questo inverno ma se tu sei fashion, sportiva e freddolosa questa è la tua migliore opzione. Principalmente in nero, marrone, cammello o di un'altra tinta neutra (a me piace molto la sfumatura Sharkskin di Pantone®) questo è un capo molto comodo da indossare.
·         Plaid overcoats	Cappotti a quadri
If you have a Scottish soul or simply miss the 90s plaids pattern are you best. You may choose mustard or taupe for a coat and red or green for a chemise (it’s winter 2015 all over again ladies). Moreover, plaid accessories may be your best compromise if you don’t feel like wrap yourself up in a blanket alike coat.	Se hai un'anima scozzese o semplicemente  nostalgia degli anni novanta le fantasie a quadri sono le migliori. Qudrettato senape o talpa per un cappotto, rosso o verde per una camicia (come per la stagione 2015 ragazze mie). Infine, gli accessori scozzesi possono essere il compromesso migliore se non ti senti di avvolgerti in un cappotto che ricorda una coperta.

Sparkling pants and accessories but try not to exaggerate.	Pantaloni  e accessori scintillanti ma cercate di non esagerare.
·                       Dusty pastel tones	Toni pastello polverosi
Pastel is all right  but with an hint of gray	Pastello va bene ma con una punta di grigio.

Maybe this piece of clothing reminds too much of the baby side of the closet. LOVE/HATE = HATE I simply don't get it	RUBATO DALL'ARMADIO DEI BAMBINI "Pelliccioso", pastello con una punta di grigio e questo colore si abbina perfettamente al suo incarnato eppure c'è qualcosa che non va...forse il fatto che questo capo di abbigliamento mi dà troppo l'idea di far parte dell'abbigliamento dei bambini. AMORE/ODIO = ODIO Proprio non lo capisco
CRUELLA	CRUDELIA
Does she remind you of Cruella de Ville too? Fancy, elegant and glamourous This gorgeous lady has a coat too big for her small frame but the disney-ish vibe make it glamorous enough. LOVE/HATE = LOVE I'm too much of a Disney not to love it.	Ricorda anche a voi Crudelia? Eccentrico, elegante e glamour. Questa splendida signora ha un cappotto troppo grande per la la sua esile figura ma l'atmosfera Disney-ana le conferisce stile a sufficienza.. AMORE/ODIO = AMORE Sono una fan Disney troppo accanita per non amarlo.
ONE DAY  I'LL FLY AWAY	UN GIORNO VOLERO' VIA
This jacket comes straight from the 90s and really reminds me of Tom Cruise in Top Guns but she managed to make even a bomber look cool! I really like the way she mixed it up with the top tank and the white pants: a bold but nice attire. I also give her browny points for the six pack. LOVE/HATE = LOVE Definitly love, she simply got it right.	Questa giacca arriva direttamente dagli anni '90 e mi ricorda Tom Cruise in Top Gun ma lei è riuscita a rendere cool persino un bomber! Mi piace davvero molto il modo in cui ha abbinato la canotta ed i pantaloni bianchi: un abbigliamento audace ma bello. Punti extra per gli addominali scolpiti. AMORE/ODIO = AMORE Decisamente amore, ci ha proprio azzeccato.
LITTLE THREE OF MINE	ALBERELLO MIO
This girl should have paired this dark green fur with something more discrete but I guess she really loves green. Love the glasses and the small backpack but I don't like the results. LOVE/HATE = HATE Love the single items but hate the mix and match.	Questa ragazza avrebbe dovuto abbinare questa pelliccia verde scuro a qualcosa di più sobrio ma credo che il verde le piaccia proprio. Mi piacciono gli occhiali e lo zainetto ma non mi piace il risultato. AMORE/ODIO = ODIO Amo i singoli capi ma odio l'abbinamento.
PLS SEND HER A PAIR OF SHOES	REGALATELE DELLE SCARPE
I'm not going to give "Thumbs Up" to someone ho paired a perfect suite with a pair of adidas, not that pair anyways. I really liked her masculine vibe untill I rested my eyes on her shoes.... LOVE/HATE = HATE Sneakers yes but carefully chosen.	Non ho intenzione di dare un giudizio positivo a qualcuno che ha abbinato un completo perfetto con un paio di Adidas, non con quel paio comunque sia. Mi era davvero piaciuta la vibrazione mascolina fino a che non ho posato i miei occhi sulle sue scarpe..... AMORE/ODIO = ODIO Scarpette si ma scelte con cura.
This fall 2016 is full of possibilities. We got furs or classic coats (like the plaid ones) but also bombers if we'd feel more sporty. Same goes for the colors, the fabrics are too very different flom the floral pattern to the metallic ones. This fall trends come in all shape and size, litterally.	Questo autunno 2016 è pieno di possibilità. Abbiamo pellicce o cappotti classici (come quelli a quadri) ma anche bomber se ci sentissimo più sportive. Lo stesso vale per i colori, anche i tessuti, dai motivi floreali alle tinte metallizzate, sono molto diversificati. Quest'anno ce n'è per tutti i gusti. letteralmente.
