IL TRENCH BURBERRY

Care ragazze oggi parliamo di un must have che non deve mancare nel vostro armadio: il trench o anche chiamato trench coat. Quest'ultimo è un termine inglese che significa "cappotto da trincea" perchè nel 1901, Thomas Burberry ricevette dal Ministero della Guerra inglese l'ordine di realizzare per l'esercito, un cappotto sile militare ma che avesse le caratteristiche di un impermeabile d'ordinanza.
La lunghezza del trench fino alla caviglia, fu dettata dall'esigenza di coprire le gambe dalle interperie e nascondere l'orlo degli stivali militari.
Boom!!!

Dopo gli anni '20 il trench entrò nei negozi e diventò un capo acquistabile anche dalla gente comune, sopratutto per la sua praticità!

Io amo il cinema e non posso non ricordare in questo post attrici indimenticabili che hanno contribuito a rendere famoso il trench nel mondo cinematografico: Greta Garbo sul set del film "Destino" (1928), Marlene Dietrich in "Scandalo Internazionale" (1948) e Audrey Hepburn nel film "Sabrina" (1954) e poi in "Cenerentola a Parigi" (1957).
Fu proprio lei, nel ruolo di Holly Golightly protagonista di "Colazione da Tiffany", a sottolineare l'entrata del trench nella Hall of Fame della moda.

Oggi, gli stilisti propongono il trench coat con tessuti high-tech e coloratissimi. Il PVC è il materiale più utilizzato dalle grandi maison: rosa per Valentino, colori metallici per Burberry Prorsum, mentre Salvatore Ferragamo realizza il soprabito corto in stampa rettile.
Il classico trench è un soprabito impermeabile con allacciatura doppiopetto e cintura con anelli in ottone a forma di D. Realizzato in "garbardine" (termine francese che indica un tessuto in filato pettinato in tinta unita), prevede anche la fodera in tartan.

Il trench coat rimane il capo cult delle celebrity ma sopratutto degli appasionati del vintage.

It was her, playing Holly Golighty in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, to highlight the entering of the trench in the Fashion All of Fame.

Nowadays several stylist present the trench coat in high-tech or cheerful colored fabric. PVC is still the favorite fabric for many Maison of Fashion: Pink for Valentino, a variety of metal colors for Burberry Prorsum meanwhile Salvatore Ferragamo goes for a short overcoat with a reptile design.

The classic trench is a double-breasted rain jacket with a matched waistband typically ending with a brassy rings shaped as a “D” buckle; it is usually made in “gabardine " (French term indicating a worsted plain fabric) and should also have a tartan lining.

The trench coat is still a cult outfit for the celebrities but even more so for the vintage lovers.
