iLook: MY BRUNCIRTHDAY - AKA A BRUNCH FOR MY BIRTHDAY

Hi girls, next week it's my birthday and I don't feel like trowing a huge party (growing up stuff and everything, you know) still I love to celebrate it somehow.

So, after a lot of thinking and a Gossip Girl rerun episode, I decided a brunch with my BFFs would be the best choice (ever).

Now that I made up my mind, I'm really into this brunch idea and that's why I'm writing this post.

Ciao ragazze, la prossima settimana è il mio compleanno e non sono in vena di feste grandiose (si cresce e tutto il resto, lo sapete) comunque sia mi piace festeggialo lo stesso.
E così, dopo averci pensato a lungo ed aver visto una replica di Gossip Girl, ho deciso che un brunch con le mie migliori amiche era la scelta migliore (in assoluto).
Adesso che mi sono decisa, quest'idea mi piace davvero tanto ed è per questo che sto scrivendo questo post.

Firstly some ground rules:

1 - Buffets are bitches!

Brunch is no lunch and you usually turn out eating way more than you would on your a regular lunch.

You can refill your plate as you like and there are so many mouthwatering things!

Beware, your line is on the line!!

Il brunch non è come il pranzo e si finisce per mangiare di di più di quanto non si mangerebbe in un pasto normale. Potete rimpinguare il piatto tutte le volte che volete e ci sono tantissime cose da far venire l'acquolina in bocca.
Attenzione, la vostra linea è a rischio.

2 - Brunch is a casual date

Saturdays and sundays daily outfits should be comfortable and cheerful, or at the very least easy and stylish. Avoid both blazer, formal clothing and jumper or shabby trousers. I'd wear jeans only if the place is very informal.

Gli outfit da giorno per il sabato e la domenica dovrebbero essere confortevoli ed allegri, o per lo meno semplici con stile. Evitate i blazer, l'abbigliamento formale ed i pantaloni della tuta o da casa. Personalmente, indosserei i jeans solo in un ambiente molto informale.

3 - You should google the restaurant/bar for interiors photos

In a brunch date the outfit depends largely from the place of your choosing (you are invited in). Classic french bistrot call for knee skirt and chemises, open air and garden for silk cheerful dress or blouses instead.

Modern bistrot are easier, you can wear either dark trousers or pastel ones and even put on a leather jacket (if the season allows it).

Nel caso di un appuntamento per un brunch, l'outfit dipende in larga misura da luogo che avete scelto (o dove via hanno invitate). Un locale provenzale richiede una gonna al ginocchio e camicia mentre un giardino all'aperto una blusa o un abito leggero in seta fiorata.
i locali moderni sono più semplici, potete indossare pantaloni scuri oppure pastello e persino azzardare una giacca di pelle (se la stagione lo permette).

4 - make up

It may be sunday morning but you don't really need the world to know someone just thrown you out of your bed. Compact, a touch of blush and mascara it's all you need. When it's a "eating date"

lipstick is a go for restaurants and a no for coffee date and brunches.

Sarà pure sabato mattina ma non c'è bisogno che il mondo sappia che vi hanno appena buttati giù dal letto. Fondotinta, un tocco di phard ed il mascara è tutto quello che vi serve. Nel caso di un "appuntamento per andare a mangiare" il rossetto può andare bene per il ristorante ma è da evitare per caffè e brunch.

5 - how to accessorize yourself

As always, accessories are a must. Yes to chandeliers earrings or statement necklaces but never together! You may also wear a total black outfit (only in a modern coffee shop though, unless it is a minidress) if you have the right accessories. Scarfs are always a nice finishing touch but if you are wearing it, remember to bring with you a big bag to put it into it, often this restaurant/bistrot/coffee shops only have small tables and uncomfortable chairs.

Nice thing about brunch is that there are no adamant rules about bags or shoes. Big or small bags, heels or flats there is no way you can go wrong with this one…….unless - of course - they don't fit your outfit......but there's completely another kettle of fish.

Come sempre, sono un must. Si agli orecchini a candelabro o le collane d'effetto ma mai insieme! potete anche optare per un outfit completamente nero (solo nel locale moderno pero, a meno che non si tratti di un minidress) se avete l'accessorio giusto. Le sciarpe sono sempre un ottimo tocco finale ma se decidete di indossarla, ricordate di portare con voi una borsa voluminosa per mettercela dentro, questi posti normalmente hanno solo dei tavoli da poche persone con sedie scomode.
Il bello dei brunch è che non ci sono regole ferree per scarpe e borsa. borsa grande o piccola, tacchi o ballerine, non potete davvero sbagliare.....a meno di non abbinarle male al vostro oufit......ma questa è tutta un'altra questione.
